Get hold of some really good buffalo mozzarella or if possible Buratta it will absolutely blow your mind.


Crostini – Buffalo Mozzarella And Chilli

So it goes without saying that when you make crostini like the one we are going to make good quality ingredients make a big difference.

When we talk about mozzarella we have three variants. We got the normal mozzarella “almost no taste” and you should not make this crostini appetizer with that. Then we have buffalo mozzarella and Buratta. If you ask me you should, of course, use Buratta as it is the deluxe version of mozzarella, but I also know that it can be hard to find. 

In this recipe, we are going to use the buffalo mozzarella as everybody should be able to find that in your store.

Let’s make this crostini buffalo and chili appetizer.


  • 3x150 g buffalo mozzarella balls
  • Crostini
  • 1 red chili
  • sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • a little fresh basil


  1. Tear 3 x 150g balls of buffalo mozzarella into quarters, then top each of your hot crostini with one of the quarters. Deseed and finely chop fresh red chili and sprinkle this over the mozzarella. Add a little seasoning and finish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Lovely with a little fresh basil torn over.
